About the Artwork:

Just Surviving shows a fish suspended upright in the green

ocean with only its head in the water, symbolising the

feeling of the artist trapped and unable to move freely,

sustained only by the bare minimum needed to continue. Its

scales grow in the wrong direction, emphasising the

unnatural strain of living paycheque to paycheque. The work

stands as a quiet commentary on modern capitalism and

the experience of the average person striving not for excess,

but simply for stability and happiness.
