About the Artwork:

Alter Ego is a self-portrait and deeply meaningful to the

artist. Both animals represents a perception of the artist. A

cow calf is the self-perception - juvinile, vulnerable and

awkward. While the brightly coloured parrot represents the

outer perception, loud, repetitive and outgoing. This piece

touches on the idea of masking, the coping mechinism often

used by neurodivergent people to hide their true selves

behind a persona which may be more socially accepted.
